The most awaited contest in Colombo was played between India and Pakistan at the R. Premadasa Stadium.
Pakistan won the toss and opted to bowl first. Ishan Kishan played a brilliant innings. He scored 77 runs from just 40 balls with 10 fours and 3 sixes. Tilak Varma added 25 runs, and skipper Suryakumar Yadav made 32 runs. In the last overs, Shivam Dube scored 27 quick runs to help India reach a strong total of 175 runs. For Pakistan, Saim Ayub bowled very well and took 3 wickets. Salman Agha, Shaheen Shah Afridi, and Usman Tariq also took one wicket each.
Chasing 176 runs, Pakistan had a very bad start. They lost wickets quickly. Babar Azam scored only 5 runs. Usman Khan tried to fight back with 44 runs, and Shaheen Shah Afridi scored 23 runs at the end. India’s bowlers were excellent. Hardik Pandya, Jasprit Bumrah, Axar Patel, and Varun Chakravarthy picked up 2 wickets each. As a result, Pakistan were all out for 114 runs in 18 overs. India won the match comfortably by 61 runs.
