Sri Lanka Shines at SAAF Senior Athletics Championships 2025

COLOMBO (News 1st) – Sri Lanka delivered an outstanding performance at the SAAF Senior Athletics Championships 2025, held in India, by securing multiple gold medals and setting new tournament records. Chamod Yodhasinghe sprinted to victory in the men’s 100m, claiming gold with an impressive time of 10.3 seconds. In the women’s 100m, Shafiya Yamik captured the gold medal, clocking 11.5 seconds, while Amasha de Silva earned the silver medal with a time of 11.7 seconds. Adding to the country’s success, Pasindu Malshan triumphed in the men’s triple jump event, also bringing home a gold medal for Sri Lanka. The performances mark a proud moment for Sri Lankan athletics, with both 100m events setting new championship records.
