Sri Lanka has added spinner Nimasha Meepage to its squad for the Women’s T20 Asia Cup, replacing all-rounder Dewmi Vihanga, who has withdrawn from the tournament after suffering a knee injury.
Vihanga sustained the injury during a practice match and was subsequently ruled out of the competition. She did not travel to Dubai with the Sri Lankan team.
Meepage, who made her T20 International debut in December 2025, has played nine T20 matches to date and has now been called up to the national squad for the continental tournament.
The Women’s T20 Asia Cup gets underway on August 28, with Sri Lanka drawn in Group B alongside Bangladesh, Indonesia and hosts the United Arab Emirates.
Sri Lanka will be led by Chamari Athapaththu, with Harshitha Samarawickrama serving as vice-captain.
