Former Sri Lanka national rugby player and club standout Terence Henry has joined Kandy Sports Club as the Forwards Coach for the 2024/25 season, taking over the role from Viraj Prashanth.
Henry, a former Wesley College, CR & FC and Havelock SC player, brings extensive experience both as a player and coach to the Kandy outfit.
A product of Wesley College, Henry captained the school’s First XV rugby team as Vice-Captain in 2005 and earned his rugby Colours. He subsequently joined CR & FC, where he played until 2011 before moving to Havelock SC.
In 2012, Henry led Havelock SC to the league title, ending a 31-year wait for the Park Club to lift the championship.
At international level, Henry represented Sri Lanka from 2007 to 2015, gaining valuable experience at the highest level of the game.
Henry has also built a strong coaching career. He is currently the Head Coach of Wesley College and has previously held the same position at Zahira College and Science College.
Earlier in his coaching career, he served as an Assistant Coach at Army Sports Club, Science College and Isipathana College. He has also worked specifically with forwards at Isipathana College, St. Peter’s College and the Sri Lanka Under-20 national team.
With his extensive playing experience and coaching knowledge, Henry is expected to strengthen Kandy SC’s forward pack and contribute significantly to the club’s campaign in the upcoming season.
